Kings XI win by 6 wickets against Challengers (IPL 25th Match: bangalore challengers innings highights)

Kings XI Punjab win by six wickets against Bangalore Royal Challengers in the 25th IPL match at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Monday. The visitors easily chased the target of 127 runs set by the Bangalore team with a loss of four wickets wickets in 18.2 overs. This was the fifth successive win for Kings XI Punjab.

Opener Shaun Marsh was the top scorer for the Punjab team scoring 39 runs off 34 balls, which included four boundaries and one six. Ramnaresh Sarwan was the second top scorer, adding 31 runs to the Punjab team total.

For the Challengers, Zaheer Khan and Praveen Kumar took two wickets apiece.

Earlier, put in to bat by Kings XI Punjab skipper Yuvraj Singh, Bangalore Royal Challengers were bowled out for a paltry 126.

Leg-spinner Piyush Chawla was the pick of the Kings XI bowlers, taking three wickets for 25 runs in his four overs. However, it was pacer Sreesanth (16/2) who started the demolition in the very first over. He picked up opener Wasim Jaffer (0) with a perfect away swinger in the fourth ball and then cleaned up debutant Cameron White (0) with a delivery that nipped back after pitching.

Irfan Pathan and VRV Singh, took a wicket each for the visitors.

For the hosts, Rahul Dravid played a captain's knock of 60 off 51 balls that was studded with nine fours and a lone six. He shared a crucial 54-run stand with Virat Kohli (34 off 36 balls) after the team was reduced to 15 for three in 3.3 overs.

Five of the Royal Challengers batsmen failed to open account. Apart from Dravid and Kohli, no other Royal Challengers' batsmen got into double figures.
