IPL Match - Jaipur Vs Mohali (Watson, Jadeja shine in Rajasthan win)

Dropped catches notwithstanding, Rajasthan Royals turned in a fine all-round performance to beat Kings XI Punjab by six wickets on Monday night.

After their captain Shane Warne turned on the heat on Yuvraj Singh's team, a brisk fifty by Shane Watson and a late burst of boundaries from rookie Ravindra Jadeja's bat helped Rajasthan chase down 167 runs with time to spare at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

This is Rajasthan's first win in the Indian Premier League, and Punjab's second loss in two games played by each.

The Kings got off to a brisk start, thanks to Karan Goel who targeted the mid wicket boundary to good effect. His quick 26 was cut short by a Munaf Patel yorker.

At this point, the two leggies among the Royals - the incomparable Shane Warne and the rookie Dinesh Salunkhe - turned on the heat.

Warne got a rampaging Kumar Sangakkara caught and bowled in the seventh over. In the eighth, Salunkhe teased Mahela Jayawardene into stepping out and had him stumped.

In the next over, James Hopes followed, trapped leg before by Warne. Yuvraj was lucky to survive a dropped catch off Warne, with Darren Lehmann botching an easy sky ball at short cover.

Yuvraj capitalised, scoring 57 but Warne had his revenge, trapping the opposition captain leg before. It took another leg-spinner Piyush Chawla to throw around his bat and add useful runs during the slog.

The medium pacer from Ahmedabad, Siddharth Trivedi was impressive mixing up his line and length at the death and finishing with 4-0-25-2.

Royals began their chase poorly with Sreesanth, Hopes and Lee doing the damage with the new ball.

Here, a struggling Lehmann provided company to Watson adding 51. Watson dealt in sixes, hitting five of them.

After Lehmann fell at 99-4, out came Ravindra Jadeja. His tackling of Lee at a crucial juncture was impressive. He stepped away repeatedly, slashing two fours to either side of third man and settling matters.

The duo added 69 in a little less than seven overs, taking Rajasthan home.
